Question Pools

Questions can be categorized into "Question Pools"; groups of questions that are usually based on a similar topic. Question Pools offer the following advantages:

  • ExamBuilder can pull a designated number of questions out of each pool to make up the exam
  • You can generate statistical reports on how an individual did in each Question Pool
  • You can generate statistical reports on how groups of people (i.e., a sales region) did in each Question Pool
  • You can create gap analysis reports for students based on their grade in each Question Pool

  1. Exam Review. You can allow students to see the questions they answered incorrectly
  2. Gap Analysis Report. This report shows the student the categories (question pools) of the exam that they were deficient in. You can customize a learning plan for each deficiency.
  3. Instructor's Feedback. You can provide a customizable message to students based on whether they passed or failed the exam

Set Time Limits on Exams

This feature is widely used by our current customers - set a time limit on an exam to prevent students from looking up answers during the exams by limiting the time they have to complete it.

Classes

ExamBuilder allows you to group your students into classes; students who have something in common, for example, a functional unit or geographic area. The advantages to grouping your students into classes are:

  • Scheduling. You can schedule an entire class to take an exam with 1 click in the Bulk Scheduling Section
  • Reporting. You can generate statistical reports for a specific class and compare the results to other classes. This means that you can see how 1 sales region performed compared to another, or which vendors who sell your product are fluent in your product sales literature
  • Searching. You can easily search for students and reports based on classes

Registration

There are 2 ways students can be placed into your instructor account:

  1. Manually. There is an easy web based form you can use to add students to the system, determine the classes they belong to and bulk schedule them for exams
  2. Self-registration. Students can self register for ExamBuilder if you enable this feature in your instructor preferences. You provide a URL to your students who fill out a web-based form and the system emails a password to them along with login information. This feature can be used in coordination with auto exam scheduling so that after students self-register, their exams are waiting for them upon login.

ExamBuilder many ways to schedule students for exams, each designed to save you time and improve efficiency.

Bulk Scheduling

If your students are grouped into classes you can bulk schedule an entire class to take an exam with 1 click

Auto Exam Scheduling

If there is an exam that everyone in your account is required to take, you can set an exam property to automatically schedule everyone in your account to take the exam. If you enable this you will never worry that someone is not scheduled to take an exam.

Auto Retakes

You can automate the process of rescheduling students who fail exams for retakes by setting this exam property to Yes. You can even set the total number of tries a person can take the exam!

Manual Scheduling

If one of the automated scheduling options isn't applicable, you can always manually schedule a student to take or retake an exam. Manually scheduling can override the other options. This section gives you pin-point control over a student's exam history; you can add time to existing exams or delete specific exam attempts if you desire.

What sets us apart from our competitors is statistical reporting. ExamBuilder is quite simply the best in this area.

Summary Reports

These reports show up to the minute activity so recent results are at your fingertips. You'll see which students completed which exams along with dates and scores.

Quick Reports

ExamBuilder provides 5 Quick Reports, a fast and easy way to track exam status across the entire organization by a variety of criteria.

  1. Snapshot Report. This reports displays all students who completed a specific exam along with scores and completion dates. You can filter the data returned by:
    1. Passing or failing scores
    2. Class (i.e., functional unit or geographic area)
    3. Time period
  2. Certification Report. Some organizations require users to pass a series of exams before they can be certified. This report allows you to select a group of exams and shows all students who have passed all the exams you selected. Filter the report by class or find all students who have not met the criteria with a click of the mouse.
  3. Class Analysis Report. If you grouped your students into classes (by vendor, department, region, or other criteria) you can create a rapid view of how each group performed on an exam. Are scores in the West Coast Region higher than the Great Lakes? This report will tell you.
  4. Date Range Report. This report allows you to select a date range and brings back all results for the selected time period. Which students completed exams in March? What exams did they complete? How many total exams were taken? This view displays all that and more.
  5. In Progress Report. Which students haven't completed an assigned exam? You want names? We've got 'em. You can filter results by class as well.

Student Reports

Student history reports provide a fast yet detailed view of all the exams each student has taken. With the click of a button you can:

  • Access a full exam history for the student
  • View a student's response to every question answered
  • See times of completion
  • Read Pass/fail information
  • Print out the randomized exam the student took for review

This report can be used to provide students with remediation to enhance the learning experience. Reports can also be printed and attached to an employees file if necessary.

Statistical Exam Reports

These are very powerful statistical reports that give you detailed analysis of not only every question, but every question pool and an item analysis of every multiple choice answer. You can filter the results by a specific class such as a sales region and then compare the results to other sales regions. Here what this report can do:

  • What percent of people answered each question correctly and incorrectly?
  • Question Ranking - which question was most difficult and which was easiest?
  • How many respondents answered each question?
  • To which question pool did each question belong?
  • What was the high score, low score, average score and resulting range?
  • What was the standard deviation and variance?
  • What was the average time of completion?
  • What percent of students clicked on each multiple choice answer?
  • How did my students do in each question pool or category within the exam?
